  • 500g shrimps
  • 3 eggs
  • 225ml milk
  • 50g cornmeal
  • 50g plain flour
  • 1tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • oil for deep frying
  • salt and pepper


  1. Beat eggs amd milk together until well blended. Sift all the dry ingredients together. Pour beaten eggs and milk into the dry ingredients and mix to form a smooth batter. Coat the shrimps in batter.

  2. Heat oil in a deep fat fryer until very hot. Deep fry small quantities of the battered shrimp until crisp. Remove and drain on kitchen towel. Serve immediately with your favourite sauce.
